For basically one billable hour per month per user I simply cannot afford NOT to have LEAP. It is such a phenomenally good Practice Management Software that makes my professional life so much easier and enjoyable\! And it continues to get better - with the advent of AI and LEAP's addition of "LawY" I have access to additional very powerful AI tools giving me very impressive AI drafting and legal research without any increase in the monthly subscription\! It even includes the option to have LawY's AI generated legal research verified by an actual lawyer - even that is included in the standard LEAP per user fee\! LEAP is very well supported in so many ways including product managers, free webinars, online training etc. > > **Puntos en contra**: No product is perfect, so there are always things that could be better. Including sometimes LEAP changing things that users do not necessarily want changed. One other minor thing is that there is one add on that costs extra - the ByLawyers Guide (currently $69 AUD per user per month extra). However, either all of your users have the add on, or none of your users have the add on. The add on is also excellent value and I wouldn't be without; but my Legal Assistant does not really use it. > > In 2015 when I was preparing to set up my own legal practive, I knew I needed some form of Practice Management Software and I arranged for a demonstration of LEAP. There are a lot of really helpful features, particularly the ability to design and personalize templates that function a lot like mail merge in office. I also really enjoy the divorcemate cloud integration. > > **Puntos en contra**: When we started with LEAP, it often felt like we were beta testing software that was already supposed to be finished. The software is really buggy. It doesn't integrate well with Microsoft Office and the integrations often cause random errors or crashing with microsoft word. I've had to completely uninstall and reinstall the app several times when it seems to get 'stuck' or won't update properly for random reasons - for example, new matters won't show up when I login and only appear when searching archived matters as well. I don't like that I can't open multiple windows in the matter; it makes it cumbersome to move documents between various folders. It also struggles if you have a weaker internet connection. I don't find the software particularly intuitive - many of the tools are not where you would expect them to be. > > Overall, I miss the old divorcemate compared to LEAP. But it is much more than a timekeeping and billing app. It is a comprehensive law office management tool. It has vastly simplified my practice. It is now longer a dreaded, tedious, chore to prepare invoices. A few simple steps, they are done. Payments are easily credited. I can call up every invoice from the client account. I can also find all correspondence and email in each client account. Am AI feature conducts research for me. > > **Puntos en contra**: I dislike the new timesheet. It replaced one which I considered to be more intuitive. LEAPs online technical articles do not always keep up with changes made to the app. > > Frantastic. It saves me time. It saves me irritation. If you receive a check from a client that is paying multiple invoices, LEAP has an excellent way of entering them in an expeditious manner. I also like the way that LEAP syncs all of the transactions over to QuickBooks Online so that we can have an accurate account of our transactions. > > **Puntos en contra**: No issues with LEAP. It works very well for my purposes. The only issue that I sometimes have is when I try to sync journal entries to QuickBooks Online. For some reason, it shows that it has "disconnected." We have figured out though how to correct this issue when it does come up which is not very often. > > Overall, my experience with LEAP has been very good\!
