I recommend this to anyone looking to manage their employees across a larger scale with a software that takes a seamless, simple, effective, not the most basic but no superfluous bells and whistles gumming up the works approach and hits it out of the park with flawless functionality.

I used this for keeping track of my hours, benefits, and payroll as an employee of a large public school system. The ease of use and organization of this software were well developed and user friendly. Not only was it simple to use without being "in your face" but it was reliable, as in, consistently working and never had an issue or malfunction.

It could have used a person touch either from the user side where customization is possible or from the company where I had a contact person or human I could have reached if needed...however that is just splitting hairs, besides, if the software never breaks then you dont need tech support or a company contact person, right?

Overall, underwhelming. The costs have been exorbitant. The onboarding processes was a mess. Reports should have been proactively set up for interfaces and the turnaround time to correct was unreasonably long. The second year our renewal went up 18%. The saving grace was the HR and payroll rep and their assistance through the process.

I liked consolidating all of the employee information on one platform. The mobile app is great for employees. The clock in and out options are great. Our reps, when available, are fantastic.

The cost. The unavailability of reps. The learning module is terrible. Reporting module is not user friendly. The leave management process is also not good.

Payroll processing is fairly simple. my direct reps, [sensitive content hidden] (payroll) and Goldie (admin) are great and alway seem to make a great effort to assist us.

software is a little outdated, integration between total source and time clock are poor. reports are not always what we need and cant be customized, not a lot of choices.

Whenever I deal with my HR Business Partner, she has been able to walk with me through the problem I am facing and have been able to clearly explain how to resolve it. When reaching out my HR Business Partner, [sensitive content hidden] she is quick to respond, easy to understand and patient with my learning.

Sometimes I've waited 2 weeks for the Tax department to respond to a Case I opened. 1 has never been responded to. [sensitive content hidden] has been extremely difficult to reach and rarely is helpful with the explanations.

No support from the Payroll team. I have to call each time I run payroll. The system is not calculating accruals properly and it is creating problems with the staff. We will be changing the policies so it will be more simple and accurate.

sometimes things are hard to find, like recently I needed to find our company's EMR and that was not available. I had to create a support ticket to get that info. The response to that ticket was prompt.

EVerify photo matching was a big issue but i think its been fixed. I think ADP should offer mailing checks to employee homes if there is an issue with their banking.

Terrible. Full of promises that were never acted on. A "dedicated" team that never responds. Look elsewhere, immediately. We tried giving them numerous chances, numerous, for very simple things that were promised. None are fixed. Even their 24/7 support line takes 6 days to respond.

PTO tracking was pretty good. And good healthcare rates. They consulted when we had an issue with a bad employee. That's about it.

Everything. The system is full of bugs and errors. Running payroll takes about 30 steps. The support team, when actually available which wasn't often, never had answers. We have gone over a year and still have not had a simple employee manual, which was promised the first month. They knew we had employees in California since the beginning, and our dedicated Payroll support person said 1 year later, I didn't know you had employees in CA when we asked why it wasn't available in a dropdown. Our HR support person rarely responds to emails. We keep getting late notices for non-payment from the unemployment services office (which ADP is supposed to pay on time). Employees pay was randomly changed without our notice. The benefits selection process for our employees was a joke—numerous broken links in the system. They weren't even provided a simple explanation of benefits for the plan options. I could go on for days and days about the ridiculous number of errors broken promises. Sorry is all we get, with no resolution. Its a lot of money to pay with NO value. Or a "that's an upgraded feature" despite it being promised by our sales team. The only services that work are the 3rd party solutions they use (which are a lot).

We had the service for several years and decided to see if it was competitive. With Paycheck's proposal, we realized that ADP needed to make adjustments. We contacted our sales rep and she right away helped us do a fair comparison and improved our prices. We decided to stay with ADP.- Sector: Construcción

Terrible interface on work force now, and retirement accounts. Limited option while doing payroll, ie PTO: does not allow one to personalize reasons why the many various reason people take off. Also it does not allow particular payments to employess as vacation' when employee would rather work for vacation.

Initially, using ADP didn't seem like a good option for us. The team seemed to be unresponsive and not always helpful.
After about a little over a year, the team changed which provided us more quicker and better assistance and a lot more dedicated to resolving issues. Also, our Risk and Safety rep stopped by for the learning section and to assist with compliance. This was really helpful.

We've been with ADP TotalSource for a long time and it's been really great overall. There have been times in past years where it seems that ADP was in a staff turnover period, which was a little frustrating, but we got through it and everything seems to be rolling nicely now. I thoroughly enjoy the comprehensive package and knowing that ADP will take care of our needs and provide guidance and straightforward advice with any question I have.

The comprehensive package and services and knowing we're covered for our HR, payroll, risk & safety and training needs. Plus I love having an assigned HR Business Partner I can call for guidance. I also appreciate being able to call the main line and get help from anyone if my assigned rep isn't available.

It is important for small businesses to understand their costs at all times. If you decide to go with TS understand that you cannot change one part without unraveling everything. They lock you in and it is very difficult to make a change that makes the most sense for your business.
The HR component is not strong. HR is not involved, with the exception of benefits one time per year and the renewal of the contract. HR should not be involved with the nuances of health insurance. HR is also expected to understand the laws in each state and they don't which means they give bad or inaccurate advice.
Also, BE AWARE that the industry standard is that EPLI insurance is grandfathered in the event a company is sued. Not the case with ADP.
Also, our company is owed an ERC credit. Having a PEO actually slowed this process down, because the ERC company had to work through the layers of people at ADP. It's been over a year and I am still dealing with ADP and trying to get our refund.
Lastly, outsourcing allows small business to shop, be in control and determine what is best for their businesses as needs change. An example of this is the health insurance offered through ADP. It is expensive and is honestly terrible in comparison to shopping independently. I was told that ADP is the largest employer in the country and they had major negotiating power for the best benefits. This is 100% inaccurate (in my experience). I was able to get a much better policy for my employees at 75% of the cost! ADP is unaffordable and over-promises.
